I consider myself to be a leader because I take risk and step out among the crowd. There were times in which I had to make major decisions and go against the norm. Stepping out and going against the grain allowed me to develop into a strong leader. A lot of those decisions were made from a born instinct. It is like you know what you need to do, and you can’t describe it with words. Its like a gut feeling that you are born to do more and lead others using your life as a testimony for those that choose to follow.
Whenever you try to be someone that you’re not or take a short cut to success it doesn’t make you a leader. It puts you in the category of following the leaders. I believe there is a percentage of this world that has leaders that are born to lead. Also, I believe that there is a percentage of this work that has people who are followers. Not saying that one has an advantage over the other, but you must choose which role you will live. If you choose to be a leader, then don’t expect an easy path. If you choose to be a follower, then understand your role in life is to duplicate and do what you see others doing. In essence, do what you see the leaders doing after they do it. Depending on where you are at in life and where you want to go in life you will have to make this personal judgement. Now, there are times that leaders do become followers and followers do become leaders. Not very often does this happen but it is possible.
What it requires to change is to assess where you are at in life and decide your risk factor. Understand your risk factor is higher as a leader than a follower. Even if you switch from being a leader to a follower, understand there is risk (may not be as greater) but there is a cost as well as consequences to pay for your decisions. When you think of the grand scale of everything, leaders need followers and followers need leaders.
